Please bring a hardcopy, state issued photo ID with you to your appointment (military IDs are accepted) we are required to have this before being able to perform any service.
If your child is under the age of 18 (so age 8-17, and they want to get a piercing that we perform by age (see below), you as parent will need to be physically present throughout the entire procedure. You (as parent) will need to have a hard copy state issued photo id (see above) for yourself, as well as one of the following for your child (aged 8-17): a hard copy state issued photo ID, and/or, a birth certificate, and/or a military ID, and/or a passport, and/or a school issued ID (in conjunction with a birth certificate). As the parent, if you do not have matching last names and addresses, then please provide guardianship papers or proof of custody.
We are going to pierce you in our implant grade titanium (ASTM F-136) that has been autoclave sterilized and is chosen for you by your piercer (and you) to ensure proper initial fit for your healing process (no outside jewelry will ever be used).
We begin piercing our clients when they reach 8 years of age. From the ages of 8-15, we will be happy to pierce any ear lobes that the young person is excited and willing to get. These are their piercings and they will have to want them and understand the decision and aftercare perimeters we will go through all of this in detail so they can give their informed consent.
From the ages of 15-17, we will be happy to pierce the following with the young person's decision and enthusiasm (again informed consent): all ear piercing including cartilage, and nose, septum, lip, eyebrow, and navel (aka belly button).
When you get to 18 then you can get the whole shabang: includes tongue, dermals, nipples, and genitals
Of note, if you are under 18, we will need to have your parent present for any services including changes or jewelry purchases (see directions above).
So so many piercings are anatomy dependent and may not work with your anatomy in our professional opinion. We have almost 50 years of combined piercing experience on our all lady piercing team and pride ourselves in providing thoughtful and thorough and explanatory discussions of the different piercings you'd like and which ones have the best likelihood of healing successfully for you. We are gonna look, feel and ask a million questions and maybe have you make some faces and do some crazy things so we can tell and troubleshoot your anatomy and then we will explain and show you why things will, and won't, likely work. We are not in the business of piercing you when the spot does not have a high likelihood of success. The most common piercings that sometimes cannot be done due to anatomy are: Industrial, Septum, Daith, Forward Helix, Navel, Dermals, and Vertical Lip/Labret. We will also go through all the piercings that you have exceptional anatomy for in order to help you make the best piercing decision going forward.
If ya lose a piercing, please wait a minimum of a month to re-pierce.
Please keep your initial piercing jewelry in for the entire healing process (until your piercing is completely mature) this will likely take between 3 and 12 months and maybe longer given issues.
Some piercings require a downsize to heal fully, safely and completely your piercer will inform you of timetables and signs that it's time for you to come in for your downsize (see downsizing guideline for more information).
We are always happy to change our Patriots piercings. There is a small change fee (see price list) and that is to insert or remove one piercing. If you are inserting or removing multiple piercings, the first is full price and then the subsequent ones are at half off each.
Piercings that are not done at Patriots, that are amatuer or poorly done, are usually not possible to be changed for a myriad of reasons.
Almost always client-provided jewelry is unusable in your piercing due to poor quality metal, inappropriate size and/or style, and/or just generally not good for the health of your piercing. It is entirely and completely at our piercer's discretion what jewelry can be used for a change.
